Jacob took his first fall today :(
He was sitting with me on the couch playing with the tv remote. He dropped the remote and dove right after it. He hit head first and I grabbed him up right away, he cried for a couple minutes, but he was ok.
I called Urgent Care to see what I should look for to make sure he was alright and she said to just make sure he doesn't act like he's in pain, doesn't vomit, and to check on him periodically while he's sleeping to make sure he can be easily woke up.
He was super cuddly afterward, which was great because I didn't want to let him go. I felt like the worst mommy ever, I should have been able to catch him! At least he's ok, that's the most important thing.
I tried doing a photo shoot today, before the fall took place. He was so happy and cooperative, but the freaking pictures turned out blurry. GRR! I'll just have to redo it.

Wow!
Jacob has learned so much in the past couple days. On Sept 18, he pulled himself up for the first time! I've been helping him by holding my hands out and letting him grab on and pull up, but I was giving a little help when he needed it. We were sitting on the floor playing and he was facing me, between my legs. He leaned forward grabbed my shirt and was up in a second, like he'd been doing it forever. I was so proud of him. He's been trying to pull up on other things. but hasn't been very successful since.
Then on Spet 19, he started clapping. We were playing outside and mamma was holding him, she started saying pat-a-cake and he started clapping along. I had been practicing pat-a-cake with him for a few weeks. Now, when he gets happy or excited he claps his hands together. He is such a cutie! He's even been leaning forward and trying to get on all fours a lot lately. He always gets one leg stuck though, I'm sure he'll get the hang of it soon.
I'm starting back to class this week and it's killing me that I have to leave him. I'll be gone pretty late and there's a pretty good chance he'll be sleeping when I get home. He's getting so close to crawling, I'm afraid I'll miss his first time. I know it's good for him to get time away from Mommy and it's probably good for me to get time away too, but I just don't want to.

7 months
My little guy is now 7 1/2 months. He has 6 teeth, 2 bottom, 4 on top. He's not crawling yet, but he can get on all fours and rock, when he tries to go forward he just slides onto his belly. I'm not sure he will crawl, he doesn't seem to like being on his belly much and just gets frustrated. He loves to stand though. He can hold himself up on the couch or a table and he really loves for us to hold his hands and walk him around. He gets so excited when he gets close to his destination and he starts dancing and jumping.
He finally has a favorite food, he loves the chicken noodle dinner! I couldn't get the spoon to him fast enough. He can also eat gerber puffs and I just let him try a sippy cup for the first time. He says Mama all the time, I love it!! He hasn't said dada yet and I keep trying to get him to. I think I heard him say baba once, but he was just mumbling away and making sounds.
He's going through his daddy phase right now, he went through his mommy phase last month. He still wants mommy when he's upset though, so it's not all daddy. He is so precious, I am so in love with this boy, I can't imagine life without him and I barely remember life before him. I can't wait to see what he learns next!
